Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Pharmacist PNE to provide clinical pharmaceutical care across adult, pediatric, and geriatric populations in a busy hospital setting. You will oversee medication orders, IV admixtures, and unit-dose distribution while guiding pharmacy staff to ensure timely, accurate dispensing.

Holders of a State of Illinois Pharmacist license with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy are required; PharmD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an accredited college is required.
• Current State of Illinois Pharmacist license is required.
• Familiar with current clinical and therapeutic literature.
• Knowledge of dosing for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and verifies physician medication orders and enters them into the pharmacy information system.
• Oversees preparation, labeling and dispensing of medication including IV admixtures.
• Checks staff work for accuracy and ensures timely pharmacy services.
• Oversees daily workflow and directs technicians to optimize operations.
• Generates reports, prepares IV admixtures, and orders medications as needed.
• Participates in pharmacokinetic consult dosing per hospital protocol.
