Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers by documenting patient encounters, coding with CPT and ICD-10, and preparing after-visit summaries. You will observe visits, document in real time, and assist with next steps in the patient care journey.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications from pre-medical studies or clinical experience.
• Strong listening and communication abilities are essential.
• Typing speed of 70+ words per minute is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documenting patient encounters in real time with structured notes including history, assessment and plan.
• Assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes and preparing after-visit summaries as needed.
• Help ensure documentation accuracy and support care team with related tasks.
• All other duties as assigned by the provider or clinic leadership.
