Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers by documenting patient encounters in real time and ensuring accurate CPT/ICD-10 coding. As part of the care team, you will participate in daily huddles, assist with after-visit summaries, and collaborate on documentation improvements.

Ideal candidates are prepared for 1–2 years in the role, with strong medical terminology knowledge and excellent listening and typing skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications is required or strongly preferred.
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing or volunteering, is strongly preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience is optional but beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in real time with structured notes and CPT/ICD-10 coding.
• Assist with daily huddles and clinical documentation reviews.
• Prepare After Visit Summaries and support care team with documentation tasks.
• Coordinate with providers on documentation opportunities and referrals.
