Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe - Float to support our primary care providers with clinical documentation, enabling clinicians to focus on patient care in real time. Scribes observe in exam rooms, document encounters in structured notes, assign CPT and ICD-10 codes, and prepare After Visit Summaries, contributing to value-based care and team-based workflows.

This full-time role requires in-person clinic presence, flexibility, and a commitment of 1 year or more in the role to

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience preferred (shadowing/volunteering).
• Scribe or transcription experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in structured notes (history of present illness, assessment, plan, physical exam).
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes and prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Support Daily Huddles and Clinical Documentation Reviews.
• Provide administrative support to the care team.
• Other duties as assigned.
