Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a full-time Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with real-time documentation. You will join clinical teams in our clinics, observe encounters, and document care activities to help providers focus on patient care.

The role emphasizes accurate, timely coding and integration into value-based care workflows. Ideal candidates commit to 1–2 years, have strong listening and communication skills, and can work around 40–45 hours per week in person.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications [required]
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing/volunteering [preferred]
• Scribe or transcription experience [optional]

Responsibilities

• Documenting Patient Encounters ~ 80%
• Clinical Documentation Improvement ~ 10%
• Administrative support for provider and care team ~ 10%
• Other duties as assigned
