Job summary

The University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio is seeking a Clinical Data Analyst, Quality to oversee Joint Commission core measures and lead performance improvement initiatives. The role collaborates with clinicians and administrators to develop strategies and monitor outcomes.

The analyst will extract and analyze data, display results for cross-disciplinary communication, and support action plan implementation across departments.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current Ohio licensure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health-related field; Master’s degree preferred; statistical knowledge valued.
  • Minimum of three years of inpatient clinical experience; medical-surgical nursing preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel; project management software experience preferred.
  • Two+ years in quality and performance improvement and Joint Commission knowledge.
  • Two+ years in team/committee work; strong written and verbal communication; project management experience.
  • Recent evidence of strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Clinical competency per unit Scope of Care; responsive to patient care needs.

Posted Salary: $61,888.48-$92,833.23

Job Description:

The Clinical Quality Management Analyst will be responsible for oversight of Joint Commission core measures and performance improvement initiatives identified as priorities at the University of Toledo Medical Center. The Clinical Analyst will be responsible for strategy development that engages staff, physicians and administration in high quality care. The Clinical Analyst works closely with the non-clinical analyst to extract and analyze data, monitor compliance, and display results in an effort to communicate effectively across all disciplines in the organization. The analyst provides support to departments and individuals in facilitating action plan implementation and evaluation of clinical quality and performance improvement initiatives. All duties and responsibilities listed are essential.

PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS BASED IN TOLEDO, OHIO. This is not a remote position.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1. Registered Nurse with current Ohio Licensure.
  • 2. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or health-related field required with Master’s Degree in Nursing or health-related field preferred. Statistical knowledge preferred.
  • 3. Minimum of three years of recent clinical experience required, inpatient medical-surgical nursing required
  • 4. Ability to use office automation computer software required including word processing (MS Word preferred) and spreadsheet programs (MS Excel preferred) required. Experience with project management software preferred.
  • 5. Minimum of two years experience with quality and performance improvement in health care and knowledge of Joint Commission standards required. Clinical chart review and abstraction experience required.
  • 6. Minimum of two years of work experience within a team or committee, requiring self-direction. Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required. Project management experience required.
  • 7. Evidence within the past three years of excellent analytical and organizational skills is required.
  • 8. Demonstrates clinical competency in caring for patients as identified in unit’s Scope of Care.
  • 9. Effectively responds to customer service needs.
    • a. Demonstrates effective age and culturally appropriate interaction with patients, families, and other
      members of the health care team.
    • b. Seeks out ways to assist patients and co-workers.
  • 10. Actively participates in performance improvement activities as related to job duties.
