Job summary

The University of Toledo seeks a Clinical Research Program Manager to lead the clinical trials operations team and oversee coordinating staff across groups. This role provides expert advice to faculty, PIs, coordinators, and leadership throughout the trial lifecycle.

The position collaborates with the Clinical Research Information and Financial Manager to engage PIs institution-wide, communicates with sponsors and external partners, and delivers policy training to ensure compliant study conduct.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, healthcare management,business management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional and functionallyrelevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in training of personnel.
  • Knowledge of academic medical center standard practices andpolicies, including but not limited to Medicare Coverage Analysis,Fair Market Value and Standard of Care.
  • Knowledge of FDA and Good Clinical Practice guidelines andregulations.
  • Experience with medical coding and knowledge of medicalterminology.
  • Proficient in electronic health information systems (i.e., EPIC),Microsoft Office suite, and ability to learn and use other softwaresystems as required by the position.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, anddraw valid conclusions.
  • Background with federal and non-federal regulations for grant andcontract management

Responsibilities

  • Lead the clinical trials operationsteam and provide oversight for clinical research coordinatingstaff across supported groups.
  • Provide expert advice to faculty and principal investigators, coordinators, leadership and other personnel involved in the lifecycle of clinical trials.
  • Maintain knowledge of current regulations and University policies governing administration of clinical research.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Research Information and Financial Manager to engage PIs across the institution.
  • Communicate effectively with university personnel, administrative departments, external sponsors and CROs.
  • Provide training on policies and procedures as needed.

Job Description

This role is responsible for leading the clinical trials operationsteam and providing oversight for clinical research coordinatingstaff for supported groups. The position provides expert advice toUniversity of Toledo (UToledo) faculty and principal investigators(PIs), clinical research coordinators, leadership and otherpersonnel involved in the execution of clinical trials throughoutthe lifecycle.

This position maintains a working knowledge on current regulationsand University policies that govern the administration of clinicalresearch. This position will work collaboratively with the ClinicalResearch Information and Financial Manager to engage PIs across theinstitution in the growth of clinical research. This position mustcommunicate effectively with university personnel andadministrative departments as well as external sponsors andcontract research organizations. This position provides training onpolicies, and procedures as needed.
