Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking a Manager of Cytology within the Department of Pathology to lead the Clinical Cytology Lab, overseeing daily operations, HR, budgeting, quality, safety, and compliance. You will supervise screening of gynecologic and exfoliative samples and train cytotechnologists in fine needle aspiration adequacy assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cytotechnology, biology, medical technology or related field.
• ASCP certification as Technologist.
• 5 years of relevant cytology experience required.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily operations of the Clinical Cytology Lab.
• Manage HR, financial and budgeting planning; ensure quality and safety programs.
• Perform primary screening of gynecologic and exfoliative non-gynecologic samples.
• Train cytotechnologists in FNA service and adequacy assessment on touch prep biopsies.
• Maintain CAP continuing education materials and credentialing stats.
• Participate in administrative discussions for succession planning.
