Job summary

Advocate Health in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a full-time Athletic Trainer to work with the Human Performance and Gait laboratory in an orthopedic setting. You will provide clinical athletic training services in local clinics, perform patient histories, evaluate injuries, and assist with imaging and procedures as directed by providers.

The role requires a CAATE-accredited bachelor's degree, BOC certification, state licensure eligibility within 30 days, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in athletic training from CAATE-accredited program.
• BOC certification required.
• Licensed or eligible for state licensure within 30 days of hire.
• BLS/CPR training required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical athletic training services in orthopaedic clinics following ethical standards and applicable regulations.
• Room patients and collect medical history from patient or guardian.
• Perform injury evaluation and functional assessment to guide care.
• Order imaging as directed by providers and assist with procedures.
• Apply braces/casts and advise on use of DME.
• Support physicians with wound care and concussion management.
• Document notes accurately in EPIC EMR and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with patient education and data collection for research.
