Novant Health Ballantyne is seeking a Clinic Athletic Trainer to join the rehabilitation care team. You will develop and implement developmental performance plans and work with athletes and clients to bridge rehabilitation to activity goals.

You will promote Novant Health within the entity and through community outreach, collaborating with the healthcare delivery team on patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • CAATE-accredited program required; 4-year/bachelor's degree in athletic training; graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum one year as a certified athletic trainer.
  • NATABOC Certification (national) required.
  • NCBATE licensed or eligible, required.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire, required.
  • Industry Certification; NSCA-CSCS or NASM preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake for a variety of medical and musculoskeletal conditions, including history, chief complaint, and medication reconciliation.
  • Conduct physical examinations, ROM testing, strength testing, and functional assessments as directed.
  • Support supervising therapist and perform point-of-care testing as needed.

Novant Health Ortho & Sports Medicine Ballantyne is seeking a Clinic Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer serves as part of the rehabilitation care team and as an expert in developing and implementing developmental performance plans to bridge formal rehabilitation and client activity goals. The performance clinic athletic trainer is responsible for being a part of the performance team with coaching groups of athletes, adults and individuals to reach their highest levels in preparation for competition and life. Promote Novant Health within own entity as well as through community outreach initiatives and serve as an integral part of the healthcare delivery team.

What You'll Do

Perform appropriate patient intake for a variety of medical and musculoskeletal conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, thorough history of condition or injury, chief complaint, assessment of pain level, completion and / or review of past medical history, family history social history and medication reconciliation. Perform appropriate physical examination per patient history and chief complaint. This includes but is not limited to palpation of the affected area and unaffected area, range of motion testing, strength testing / manual muscle testing / dynamic muscle testing, myotome/dermatome testing, ligamentous stress testing, or functional testing. At direction of supervising therapist, perform appropriate point of care testing.

What We're Looking For
  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors’ degree in athletic training or equivalent from a CAATE accredited program, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of one year experience as a certified athletic trainer having participated in various administrative, educational or medical support services, required.
    • Minimum one year experience as a performance professional in a youth, college, hosptial or professional organization, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • NATABOC Certification (National Athletic Trainers Association-Board of Certification), required.
    • NCBATE licensed or eligible, required.
    • BLS certification within 30 days of hire, required.
    • Industry Certification; preferably NSCA-CSCS or NASM, preferred.
  • Additional skills required:
    • Excellent presentation skill in various group settings.
    • Strong customer service skills where the client and patient are top priority.
    • Energy and passion for mentoring others to achieve their personal recovery and wellness goals.
    • Social media experience, knowledge and participation. ability to drive and travel between venues as needed.
