You will assist with patient flow, vital signs, specimen handling, EMR documentation, and coordinating appointments, procedures, and records in a busy hospital setting. This position emphasizes teamwork and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Certificate Medical Assistant program from an accredited school.
• Medical Scribe training program (if required by the department).
• 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• BCLS certification – Issuing Authority: AHA.

Responsibilities

• Serves as liaison between physicians, patients, families, and insurance companies to ensure quality patient care.
• Coordinates daily activities of the physician team to ensure efficient operations.
• Assist with patient flow, rooming, and basic procedures; take vitals and relay instructions to patients.
• Perform clerical tasks such as handling medical records, lab reports, and requisitions; utilize EMR or paper-based systems as needed.
• Enter orders into EMR or prepare prescription refill requests for physician review.
• Perform phlebotomy duties if required.
• Inventory, restock, and set up examination rooms and instruments.
• Maintain proper sterilization, PPE compliance, and specimen handling per policy.
• Schedule appointments or assist with surgical bookings as needed.
• Provide training and mentoring to junior MA staff.
