Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Clinical Assistant to support physicians and surgeons by coordinating patient care and serving as a liaison among patients, families, providers, homecare, and insurance entities. You will mentor less experienced staff and help maintain smooth daily operations across campus and satellite offices.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, phlebotomy, chart management, EMR entries, and scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certificate program.
• Completion of a Medical Scribe training program if required by department.
• 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• BCLS certification issued by AHA.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between physicians, patients, families, healthcare providers, nursing homes, homecare providers, patient employers and insurance companies to ensure quality patient care.
• Coordinate daily activities of the physician team staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Assist with patient care tasks such as preparing exam/procedure rooms, helping patients with walking, transferring, and phlebotomy as needed.
• Handle clerical duties including medical records, lab/x-ray reports, and EMR entries.
• Provide training and mentoring to Level I MA staff.
• Inventory and restock medical supplies and prepare examination rooms.
