Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• BCLS certification – Required Issuing Authority: AHA.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a liaison between physicians, patients, families, healthcare providers, nursing homes, homecare providers, patient employers and insurance companies to ensure quality patient care.
• Coordinates the daily activities of the physician team staff to ensure an effective and efficient daily operations flow.
• Assists with patient exams, vital signs, specimen collection and handling, and assisting physicians with procedures.
• Enters orders into the electronic medical record (EMR) system or prepares prescription refill requests.
• May perform medical scribe functions as directed by the supervising physician.
• Inventories, orders or re-stocks medical supplies as applicable.
• Provides training and mentoring to Level I MA staff.
• May assist in scheduling surgeries and pre-admissions.
