Position Overview

The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking a clinical assistant/associate professor whose teaching and scholarship is focused on Nursing Leadership. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate-level courses.

Responsibilities
  • Provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate-level courses.
  • Provide student advising, mentoring and recruitment.
  • Engage in curriculum development, program assessment and accreditation-related procedures.
  • Incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Supervise and support DNP student projects.
  • Provide service to the School of Nursing, the college, the university and community or professional organizations.

This is a 12‑month, non‑tenure‑track position.

Minimum Requirements
  • Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD).
  • Demonstrated pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to nursing leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing’s educational requirement.
  • Three years of clinical experience related to the concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care for Nursing Leadership.
  • Nurse Educator Certification.
  • Skills with Blackboard LMS, Banner INB, and Microsoft Office support software.

Required License or Certification

Applicants must hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina or have eligibility to obtain a North Carolina Registered Nurse license.

Work Arrangement

This position is on‑site; employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on‑site.
