Part‑Time Instructor | Nursing

The School of Nursing invites applications for Part‑Time Instructors for the Spring 2026 semester. Part‑Time Instructors are hired on a semester‑by‑semester basis to teach nursing courses. Clinical and/or didactic instructors will teach adult health, pediatrics, maternity, and mental health in our traditional, accelerated, and RN‑BSN entry options and/or applicable Psych‑Mental Health NP or Post‑Master's TL DNP.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Planning and providing clinical instruction and experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the nursing program and profession, if applicable.
• Facilitating student achievement of course objectives/outcomes through varied teaching methods and evaluating student achievement of course objectives/outcomes.
• Serving as a nursing resource person for healthcare and local agencies.
• Utilizing feedback from student/faculty evaluations for instructional improvement.
• Serving as a role model for students in the professional, social, and civic areas.
• Utilization of evidence‑based research in teaching and the practice of nursing.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate degree in Nursing and a minimum of two years full‑time employment or equivalent in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse, verified with the Board of Nursing.
• Current unrestricted RN license to practice in the state of North Carolina.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates with a Master’s or Doctorate in nursing degree and 1–3 years teaching experience at the University or Community College level, and a background in nursing.

Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies: N.C. A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2‑hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
