Job summary

UP Health System- Marquette Medical Specialists seeks a Clinic Sonographer for the Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic. Schedule is 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm. You will perform ultrasound procedures, prepare patients, and maintain equipment while upholding infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications include an Associate’s degree in Ultrasound/Sonography, RDMS or RCS certification, and BLS-HCP. Prior sonography experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Ultrasound/Sonography or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an approved Ultrasound program (2-year AMA Allied Health program).
  • RDMS or RCS certification preferred.
  • BLS-HCP certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Uses high-frequency ultrasound to produce and evaluate images.
  • Performs ultrasound procedures and related tasks.
  • Calibrates and maintains ultrasound equipment and peripherals.
  • Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures.
  • Maintains infection control and patient comfort; ensures room cleanliness and supplies.

Education

Associate's degree in Ultrasound/Sonography
AMA Allied Health Program (2-year)
Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound (RDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

How you'll contribute
  • Utilizes high frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques to produce and evaluate ultrasound images.
  • Performs ultrasound procedures and tasks.
  • Calibrates, adjusts, and maintains ultrasound and peripheral equipment.
  • Assesses and prepares patients of all ages for examinations and explains procedure to patient and/or family while performing the examination.
  • Provides basic patient care and comfort: Maintains infection control and universal precautions as it relates to patient care and equipment.
  • Maintains order, cleanliness, and supplies in rooms

What we're looking for:
  • Graduated 2 year AMA Allied Health Program
  • Registered in Diagnostic Ultrasound (RDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
  • Education: Associate's degree Required; Graduate of approved program of Ultrasound/Sonography or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
  • 1 year as Sonographer (Preferred)
