Job summary

UP Health System Marquette is hiring a Radiographer in Diagnostic Radiology for a 0.9 FTE schedule of 36 hours per week with varied shifts. This MAST union position includes a $7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates and offers a meaningful role within our imaging team.

You will review orders, educate patients about procedures, assist with contrast administration, ensure safety, position patients, perform imaging, analyze results, and document scans.

Qualifications

• Two years ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
• Associate's degree (preferred).
• BLS-HCP certification.
• ARRT Registry in Radiology (R) or NMTCB certification.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician orders; educate patient about procedures, equipment and exam.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope; monitor patient condition and report changes.
• Prepare equipment and supplies; select exposure factors and imaging parameters; ensure safety and perform quality control; troubleshoot equipment.
• Implement safety standards and perform quality control; report/correct malfunctions as needed.
• Position patient and perform imaging; analyze results and address image quality issues; document scans.

How you'll contribute

A Radiographer who excels in this role:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
