Job summary

UP Health System Marquette is seeking a Radiographer for Diagnostic Radiology. 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) with varied shifts in a MAST union setting. Eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates.

In this role you will review orders, educate patients, assist with contrast administration, operate imaging equipment, ensure safety, and assess image quality to support accurate diagnoses.

Qualifications

  • Two years ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • BLS-HCP certification.
  • ARRT Registry in Radiology (R) or NMTCB.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient history and orders; educate patient on procedures and exam.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media or meds within scope; monitor patient status.
  • Prepare equipment; set exposure factors; perform quality control; troubleshoot equipment.
  • Position patient and perform imaging procedures; analyze image quality; report results.

How you'll contribute

A Radiographer who excels in this role:

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

What we’re looking for:
