Job summary

UP Health System- Marquette is seeking a CT Radiographer to join our Radiology team. This .8 FTE role offers varied shifts, including 8, 10, and 12-hour options, with rotating holidays and weekends.

A sign-on bonus of $7,500 is available for eligible candidates. You will perform CT imaging procedures, review orders, educate patients, prepare contrast and media as needed, ensure safety, and contribute to image quality.

Qualifications

• Requires ARRT Radiology certification with CT eligibility or CT ARRT certification.
• Two years ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology; Associate's degree preferred.
• If not ARRT(CT), must work under supervision until ARRT(CT) is obtained.

Responsibilities

• Provides CT radiographic services as ordered, following established practices.
• Reviews patient history and orders; educates patients about procedures and equipment.
• Prepares and administers contrast media as needed; monitors patient condition and responds to changes.
• Sets up equipment, selects exposure factors and imaging parameters; ensures safety and performs QC on equipment.
• Implements safety standards, troubleshoots equipment issues, and reports malfunctions.
• Positions patients and performs imaging; analyzes results and ensures image quality; enters and reports scan results.

How you'll contribute

A CT Radiographer who excels in this role:

• Provides computerized assisted tomographic/radiologic services as ordered/directed, according to established practices and procedures.

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

• Prepare equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

What we're looking for:

Minimum Education

• Two years ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology

• Associate's degree (Preferred)

• *If not ARRT(CT), then you must work under the supervision of an ARRT(CT) technologist until your ARRT(CT) is obtained.

Required Skills:

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

• ARRT Registry in Radiology (R) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)

• ARRT Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in CT (within 1 year hire/transfer)

Minimum Work Experience

1 year in radiologic technology and/or CT procedures (Preferred)
