Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Patient Services Representative (PSR) for the Infectious Disease Clinic to coordinate outpatient schedules and provide front-desk support.

This role handles patient check-in, insurance verification, cash handling, and frontline communication with patients and staff, ensuring accurate charting and smooth clinic operations.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication and Excel skills and be able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of professional work experience for Level 1.
• 3+ years of experience in customer service, including at least 6 months in a clinical environment for Level 2.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments, by telephone or in person.
• Greets patients and directs to appropriate staff.
• Obtains and updates patient demographics.
• Answers calls and distributes to the appropriate individuals.
• Balances and reconciles cash drawer daily.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and PCP referrals.
• Copies insurance cards and uploads into EMR.
• Promotes patient portal for communication.
• Pulls charts and files medical records as needed.
• Prepares ancillary forms for services as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
