Under minimal supervision, you will interact with patients, insurers, physicians and staff, ensure accuracy of benefits, perform predeterminations, and assist with accounts receivable resolutions while maintaining courteous, compliant

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years insurance or medical billing experience, physician practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-9 & 10 coding required.
• Understanding of government and third party billing regulations.
• At least 1 year experience with predetermination processes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computerized health information systems.
• Familiar with general office equipment (scanner, fax, copier, printer, adding machine).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient access, registration, scheduling and insurance verification.
• Submit referrals, authorizations and predeterminations in a timely manner.
• Interact daily with patients, insurance carriers, physicians and staff.
• Verify and authorize insurance benefits on patient accounts; pursue AR balance resolutions.
