Children's National Hospital seeks a Clinic Operations Representative in the Orthopedics Clinic to provide patient services and administrative support at our main campus in Washington, DC. You will interact with families, physicians, and staff under supervision, collect demographic data, assist with scheduling, and maintain accurate records.

Next step in the career ladder is Senior Clinic Operations Rep or Team Lead; 1 year of billing/registration/scheduling/insurance verification is valued.

Qualifications

• Broad clinic knowledge and strong customer-service skills.
• 1 year experience in billing, patient registration, scheduling, or insurance verification.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel; able to type at least 35 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients accurately using the department's scheduling system.
• Complete online registration with parent/guardian in a professional & courteous manner.
• Collect and verify demographic and insurance information; update systems accordingly.
• Reschedule appointments and coordinate follow-ups at checkout.
• Greet patients and guardians courteously; document HIPAA notices as required.
• Obtain insurance cards and photo IDs; ensure forms are filed in the medical record.
• Respond to patient portal requests and messages in a timely manner.
