Qualifications

• EPIC electronic medical record system preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows-based desktop applications required.
• PC keyboard data entry skills required and ability to type.
• Basic knowledge of computers, office equipment, medical terminology, and health insurance/managed care plans required.
• CPT/ICD-10 coding knowledge preferred.
• Excellent attitude, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities are necessary to interact with patients, physicians, and other hospital staff.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors.
• Register patients according to established standards and policies.
• Perform front office duties including check-in functions, verifying patient information, and documenting in the computer and chart.
• Answer telephones and schedule patient appointments.
• Enter physician charges daily and balance the cash drawer daily.
• Collect self-pay monies, co-pays, and patient balances.
