Job summary

Arkansas Heart Hospital, LLC. is seeking a Patient Access Clerk to schedule and pre-register patients by phone, verify demographics and insurance, and obtain authorizations as needed.

In this role you will contact insurance companies daily for verification, collect co-pays, and coordinate with clinicians and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate financial clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in related field (i.e., patient admissions, registration, insurance verification).
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules / pre-registers patients by phone and collects demographic and insurance information.
• Financially clears patients by verifying insurance and benefits information.
• Contacts various insurance companies daily for authorization, notification and verification.
• Notifies patients of deductible or co-pay due at time of appointment.
• Collects POS cash and posts according to department policy.
• Coordinates with internal and external administrative liaisons and with Patient Support Specialists.
• Acts as a safety-sensitive position due to essential duties in patient care.
