Job summary

House of Sport by DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a Climbing Lead to drive the climbing department, coach teammates, and deliver exceptional service.

You will instruct climbing techniques, supervise sessions, and ensure safety while maintaining product knowledge and store standards.

Flexible availability and climbing certification are required; retail experience is preferred, and you will collaborate with store leadership.

Qualifications

• Flexible availability - including nights, weekend, and holidays.
• Prior retail sales experience (or customer-focused experience) preferred.
• Climbing certification required.

Responsibilities

• Drive the highest level of customer service within the department and uphold selling standards.
• Provide consultative expertise and product knowledge to customers in climbing.
• Instruct climbing techniques for climbers of all ages and abilities.
• Teach instructional lessons and supervise climbing sessions.
• Uphold merchandise presentation and recovery processes, including stock and pricing updates.
• Assist store management with scheduling, workflow, and communicating company initiatives.
• Identify safety concerns and ensure adherence to safety SOPs for the climbing area.
• Train and mentor new hires; support cross-training within the team.
