Job summary

The Gravity Vault Hoboken is seeking a part-time Maintenance Team member to help keep our climbing facility safe, clean and fully functional. You will inspect and maintain gear, walls and equipment, and coordinate with Location Managers to meet safety standards and daily operations.

Responsibilities include weekly auto belay inspections, bi-weekly rope checks, rotate holds and maintain route setting areas, plus logging maintenance records and inventory.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience in climbing wall operations and/or maintenance is preferred.
• Knowledge of climbing equipment and adherence to industry safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to upholding a safe and controlled climbing environment.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Availability: Monday – Friday 9am – 2pm (15–25 hours per week).

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain climbing gear including auto belays (weekly) and ropes, harnesses, carabiners (bi-weekly).
• Rotate and maintain holds; keep route setting area clean and organized.
• Perform weekly wall maintenance and clean holds; ensure safe facilities.
• Maintain logs and schedules; manage inventory and report damaged gear.
• Collaborate with management and belayers to prioritize maintenance tasks.
