Job summary

UNOPS is seeking an Advisor, Portfolio Management for the Water, Environment and Climate (WEC) portfolio. This home-based, retainer role supports portfolio delivery and growth through strategic insights, strong partnerships, and effective project setup.

You will translate climate action trends into practical offerings, lead proposal development, and collaborate with WEC and GPO teams to ensure scalable delivery across multiple countries.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, International Development, Public Administration, Environmental Studies or related field with 7 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 2 additional years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Strategic Portfolio Development and Positioning: Identify growth opportunities and strategic partnerships across climate and environmental portfolios.
• Concept Note and Proposal Development: Lead high-quality concept notes and proposals aligned with strategic objectives.
• Project Set-up and Operationalization: Guide project setup, governance structures, procurement processes, and work plans.
• Knowledge Management and Capacity Building: Capture lessons learned and deliver trainings to strengthen portfolio teams.
