Job summary

UNOPS is seeking an Advisor, Portfolio Management for the Water, Environment and Climate (WEC) portfolio. This home-based, retainer role focuses on delivering performance and growth by translating climate trends into actionable operations and identifying replicable models and new service lines.

The incumbent will lead strategic portfolio development, guide project setup per UNOPS policies, and foster stakeholder relationships to align with GPO and WEC objectives in international development.

Qualifications

• Required experience includes project/programme management, fund management, and/or grant support within the international development sector.
• Demonstrated experience managing or advising multi-stakeholder climate or environmental initiatives is essential.
• Familiarity with UNOPS/UN organizational policies and project management tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Strategic portfolio development, concept note and proposal development, project set-up and operationalization, and knowledge management.
• Evaluate climate finance trends to identify growth opportunities and develop compelling proposals aligned with strategic objectives.
• Guide project teams through setup adhering to UNOPS policies and extract lessons learned to inform continuous improvement and capacity building.
