Job summary

Heather Ridge Pet Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a friendly Client Services Representative to join the front desk team. You will greet clients and their pets, handle check-in/check-out, and support the Hospital Manager and medical staff to ensure a welcoming, efficient visit.

You will provide excellent customer service, educate clients on preventive care and products, manage scheduling and payments, and help maintain a clean, organized reception area with compassionate, empathetic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior client service experience is valued, but not required. Experience in a veterinary or medical setting is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, rooted in empathy and honesty.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and practice management software, experience with AVImark is a plus.
• Ability to work well within a team, fostering positive relationships with both clients and colleagues.
• A genuine passion for animals and a commitment to providing the highest level of care, ensuring both the happiness and well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and their pets, assess needs, and manage check-in/check-out.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments to ensure timely care.
• Provide owners with clear guidance on pet health, meds, and follow-up care.
• Assist with over-the-counter product sales with honest recommendations.
• Process payments and explain charges clearly and transparently.
• Remain calm in emergencies and guide clients on next steps.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming reception area.
