Job summary

Merchants Metals is seeking a detail-oriented CSR in Bakersfield, CA to support customers and assist the Sales Representatives in soliciting and obtaining orders. This Monday through Friday day shift role offers a competitive hourly wage and emphasizes building product knowledge and delivering excellent service.

You will identify revenue opportunities, qualify leads within trading partners, respond to inquiries, and engage in technical product discussions to help customers find the right fencing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Proven customer support experience.
• Strong phone contact handling and active listening.
• Customer orientation and adaptability to different characters.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Identifies revenue opportunities within customers' communities through communication and networking.
• Prospects, qualifies, and assists in generating sales within trading partners.
• Ensures identification, planning, account qualification, and needs analysis at prospect levels.
• Interacts with prospects to identify appropriate contacts.
• Identifies and closes additional purchases of products and services by customers' communities.
• Responds to requests from customers for information and presents products based on needs.
• Engages in technical discussions with potential clients.
• Remains knowledgeable about changes in the company's B2B infrastructures.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Must be able to work overtime as required
