Job summary

Merchants Metals is seeking a Customer Service Inside Sales representative to serve as the primary internal contact for high-volume B2B customers. You will manage orders, coordinate with multiple distribution centers, provide product information, quotes, and processing of deliveries, invoices, and returns.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of relevant experience, excellent communication, active listening, and the ability to learn ERP and Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Proven customer support experience in a large-scale B2B environment.
• Ability to adapt/respond to multiple priorities calmly and professionally.
• Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening.
• Confident in learning new software such as Microsoft products, ERP, and company-specific tools.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day relationship with high-volume B2B customers, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
• Coordinate multi-service-center orders with multiple SKUs and delivery points; advocate for the customer to internal teams.
• Consult with customers to provide product information, cancel accounts, or obtain details of complaints.
• Prepare quotes, promote solutions, process orders, arrange deliveries, invoicing, and returns.
• Keep records of customer interactions or transactions and actions taken.
• Resolve customer service or billing complaints by exchanges, refunds, or bill adjustments.
• Compare disputed merchandise with invoices and prepare invoices for returns.
• Contact customers to respond to inquiries or notify about investigations or adjustments.
• Engage prospects to identify contacts and drive leads through the sales pipeline.
• Identify and close additional purchases of products/services by customers' communities.
• Prospects qualify and generate sales within trading partners; respond to bid requests and build relationships for upcoming opportunities.
• Remain knowledgeable about changes in the company’s B2B infrastructure.
• No weekends.
