Job summary

Ocotillo Animal Clinic and Pet Resort in Chandler, Arizona, is looking to add a quality team member to our full-service animal hospital.

As a Receptionist you will handle scheduling, check-in/out, phone calls, and client records using Avimark, with a 4-day work week and 9.5-hour shifts. We value excellent customer service, empathy for clients and pets, and a collaborative culture with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
• Experience with Avimark preferred.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and follow directions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; good judgment under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: 4 days a week, 9.5 hour shifts.
• Check In and Check out Clients.
• Dispense prescription items per Vet instructions.
• Schedule appointments and manage phone calls.
• Use Avimark to document and update client records.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic attitude toward clients and pets.

We are a full-service animal hospital providing veterinary care to dogs and cats. We offer services such as wellness vaccines, sick exams, surgical services, x-rays, ultra sound and Wellness Plans.

As a Receptionist You Will

• Schedule: 4 days a week, 9.5 hour shifts
• We are open Mon-Fri 7:30AM-5:30PM & Sat 7:30AM-1PM, schedules are usually 7:30AM- 6PM and 7:30PM-1:30PM on Saturday,
• Check In and Check out Clients
• Dispense Prescription items per Vet instructions
• Schedule appointments
• Phone skills to make calls and assist with scheduling
• Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner
• Use Avimark to add documentation and update client records
• Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets and other teammates.
• Demonstrate ability to show empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.

Responsibilities / Qualifications

• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
• Experience with Avimark is preferred.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
• Possession of organizational skills.
• Critical thinking – Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment and ability to manage stressful situations.
