Client Service Coordinator needed for Banfield Pet Hospital in Johnston, RI!

Summary of Job Purpose and Function

The Client Service Coordinator ("CSC") manages client and pet flow through the hospital, maximizes the productivity of the veterinary team, ensures effective communication with clients and staff, and coordinates care in a friendly, efficient manner to encourage client return and referrals.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
• Recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and managing client and pet flow for optimal care and team productivity.
• Increase the number of pets seen by supporting a productive and efficient hospital environment, especially for wellness plan clients.
• Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service, including welcoming clients and pets, ensuring their comfort, and educating them about pet health.
• Educate clients about wellness plans, preventative care, and hospital services.
• Assist incoming clients with documentation, entering pet information, and ensuring prompt service.
• Assist outgoing clients with instructions, invoices, dispensing prescriptions, selling retail products, and scheduling future visits.
• Manage finances accurately and follow proper opening and closing procedures.
• Perform administrative duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions

• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
• Comfort around various pets (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.).
• Work hours may exceed 40 hours/week, including weekends and evenings.
• Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, and to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medications.

Experience, Education, and/or Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for radiography duties.
• One year of related customer service experience preferred.
• Medical background or veterinary/healthcare training is a plus.
