Client Service Coordinator needed for Banfield Pet Hospital in Clive, Iowa!

Summary of Job Purpose and Function

The Client Service Coordinator ("CSC") manages the flow of clients and pets through the hospital, maximizes the productivity of the veterinary team, ensures effective communication with clients and associates, and coordinates care in a friendly and efficient manner to promote client retention and referrals.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
2. Actively promote hospital services and manage client flow to ensure excellent client care and team productivity.
3. Support the hospital's wellness plan clients by maximizing the number of pets seen.
4. Provide professional, welcoming, and educational service to clients and their pets.
5. Educate clients about wellness plans, preventative care, and hospital services.
6. Assist incoming clients with documentation, pet information entry, and prompt service.
7. Assist outgoing clients with instructions, invoices, prescriptions, retail sales, and appointment scheduling.
8. Maintain accurate financial records and follow opening and closing procedures.
9. Perform administrative duties as needed.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions

• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
• Comfort around various pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles.
• Willingness to work weekends and evenings, with possible overtime.
• Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, and to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medications.

Experience, Education, and Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for radiography duties.
• At least one year of related customer service experience preferred.
• Medical background or training in medical terminology is a plus.
