Client Service Coordinator needed for Banfield Pet Hospital in Clive, Iowa!

Summary of Job Purpose and Function

The Client Service Coordinator ("CSC") manages the flow of clients and pets through the hospital, maximizes the productivity of the veterinary team, ensures effective communication with clients and associates, and coordinates care in a friendly, welcoming, and efficient manner. The goal is to encourage client return and referrals.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
2. Actively promote hospital services and manage client flow to ensure excellent care and team productivity.
3. Maximize the number of pets seen by maintaining a productive and efficient hospital environment, supporting wellness plan clients.
4. Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service, including welcoming clients and pets, ensuring their comfort, and educating them about pet health.
5. Educate clients on wellness plans, preventative care, and hospital services.
6. Assist incoming clients with documentation, enter pet information, and ensure prompt service.
7. Assist outgoing clients with instructions, invoices, dispensing prescriptions, retail sales, and scheduling.
8. Manage finances accurately and follow proper opening and closing procedures.
9. Perform administrative tasks as needed.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions

• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
• Comfortable around various pets, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.
• May require more than 40 hours per week, including weekends and evenings.
• Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, and to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medications.

Experience, Education, and Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for radiography duties.
• One year of related customer service experience preferred.
• Medical background or terminology training is a plus.
