Job summary

Burns & McDonnell's 1898 & Co. Transmission Planning Project Manager role drives client engagements, leads multi-disciplinary teams, and shepherds complex power-system studies from scope through delivery.

You’ll apply tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, and ETAP to model grids, assess reliability, and deliver actionable solutions, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with stakeholders across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, computer science or related field with 5 years of related professional experience.
• Knowledge in project management, techniques, and procedures.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
• Experience leading technical aspects of consulting engagements in power systems, distribution planning, and grid modernization.
• Experience on consulting projects, client operations, or executing program management within critical infrastructure.
• Understanding of general business and financial principles.
• Experience communicating across business segments to understand project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Business Development: cultivate and grow client relationships through marketing, project interactions, and strategic engagement.
• Identify and pursue new sales opportunities with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and developers.
• Lead proposal development, project scoping, budgeting, and scheduling activities.
• Set project objectives with clients and lead contract development and negotiations.
