Job summary

Tailor in Los Angeles is seeking a Forward-Deployed Product Manager to bridge client needs with our product and engineering teams. You will extract requirements, manage onboarding, scoping, and delivery, and ensure clear communication in high-context engagements.

You will translate business needs into actionable product requirements, own client relationships, and support internal teams to align what is requested with what is built.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a software company.
• 5+ years in product management, solutions, customer success, or consulting with strong client interaction.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Organized, structured thinker; reduces ambiguity.
• Technically fluent enough to collaborate with engineers.
• Based in or willing to be frequently present in Los Angeles with ~20% travel.

Responsibilities

• Gather and clarify requirements; work directly with clients to understand business needs and pain points.
• Own the client relationship; act as main point of contact during onboarding, scoping, and delivery; manage expectations, timelines, and feedback loops.
• Support internal teams; provide context and clarity to engineers to ensure alignment between what’s requested and what’s shipped.
• Build repeatable patterns; identify recurring client needs and formalize templates, docs, or processes to streamline deployments.
• Shape the product roadmap; distill customer insights into strategic themes and high-impact features.
