Job summary

Columbia Bank is seeking a Teller to be the first point of contact for clients, handling transactions with accuracy and confidentiality while upholding Breakthrough Client Service Standards.

Under guidance from the Branch Manager, you will deepen product knowledge, identify client needs, and offer appropriate bank products to support branch goals. This role is onsite at our Madras, OR location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of banking or customer service experience is preferred.
• Bilingual ability is preferred.
• Ability to learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems.
• Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail with numbers, words, and written instructions.
• Ability to build relationships with clients and bank associates.

Responsibilities

• Always performs teller transactions and cash handling functions for clients with accuracy and confidentiality (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, etc.).
• Balance cash drawer and support daily branch tasks (e.g., ATM balance, night drops, stock updates).
• Mitigate risk by safekeeping money and prompt transfer of funds.
• Interact with clients, anticipate needs, and offer proactive banking solutions in line with service standards.
• Deepen knowledge of Columbia Bank products and services and stay updated on changes.
• Discuss and uncover customers’ financial needs to identify and refer suitable products.
