Job summary

Akerman is seeking a Client Development Manager for the Litigation Practice Group. This role reports to the Senior Client Development Manager and supports business plans, coordinating across offices in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate brings 8–10 years of business development or marketing experience, preferably in a top-tier law firm or professional services, with strong communication and project-management skills. PE/IB experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in business development or marketing within a professional services firm.
• Experience with AmLaw 100 firms preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Private Equity and Investment Banking industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement client development, marketing and communications plans with Senior Client Development Manager.
• Meet with practice group leaders regularly to align on strategy.
• Create and monitor client development programs and cross-selling initiatives.
• Develop client-facing materials, proposals and RFP/RFI responses.
• Create practice collateral for print and website use.
• Onboard new laterals joining the practice group.
• Identify media opportunities and speaker placements.
• Track matter details and manage submissions for directories and publications.
• Identify sponsorship and brand-building opportunities and coordinate events.

Akerman is seeking a Client Development Manager-Litigation Practice Group. Reporting to the Sr. Client Development Manager, the Client Development Manager assists in implementing programs that support practice group business plans and enhance the business and reputation of the firm. The incumbent will successfully assist in managing multiple competing priorities within a matrix environment and establish solid working relationships with diverse personalities across multiple offices. Akerman has adopted a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities :

• Working with the Senior Client Development Manager to develop and implement client development, marketing, and communications plans.
• Meeting with practice group leaders on a frequent basis.
• Creating and monitoring client development programs, including cross-selling initiatives.
• Managing development of client-specific presentations, proposals, and RFP/RFI responses as well as other client-facing materials.
• Managing development of all practice-related collateral for general use in print and on firm website.
• Supports senior manager to onboard new laterals joining the practice group.
• Develops story placement ideas for media relations team and identifies speaker placement opportunities.
• Tracks completed matter details and manages practice submissions for directories, databases, and other publications as needed.
• Identifies opportunities for sponsorships and other brand-building opportunities
• Coordinates practice-related events and sponsorships.

Qualifications :

• 8 to 10 years of experience, preferable with an AmLaw 100 or professional services firm, in a business development or marketing role
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work with individuals at all levels across the firm, and to work well in a team environment, collaborating effectively with team members with varying perspectives
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe
• Experience working with Private Equity and Investment Banking industries preferred
