Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Transportation in Hollidaysburg is seeking a Clerical Supervisor 2 to lead a team that supports permit processing and administrative operations across units.

You will supervise clerical staff, ensure accuracy and timely service, and administer activities for hauling, highway occupancy, bonded road permits, and legal agreements. Notary licensure is required upon hire, and telework may be possible part-time depending on location.

Qualifications

• One year as a Clerical Supervisor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• One year as a Clerical Assistant 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clerical functions that support permit processing, communications, and administrative operations across multiple units.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely service while guiding staff and maintaining essential program records.
• Administer clerical activities related to hauling permits, highway occupancy permits, bonded road permits, and legal agreements.
• Coordinate with applicants, staff, and partner agencies to ensure permit programs follow laws and policies.
• Provide accurate information and guidance to applicants, agencies, and internal staff regarding permit processes.
