Job summary

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District is seeking a dedicated custodian to support building cleanliness and safety. You will perform cleaning duties to protect buildings, equipment, and furniture, ensuring a safe learning environment.

This 7-hour day position works 5 days a week during the school year, with prior internal applicants given consideration. Applicants must have a high school diploma and be able to lift 50 lbs and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; training or experience may supplement.
• Pre-employment skill test may be required.
• Ability to lift/move items weighing 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Collects, records and maintains data accurately; applies basic mathematical concepts.
• Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies and guidelines.

Description:

Under the supervision of the building Principal, and Head Custodian responsible for performing cleaning and custodial duties to protect/preserve buildings, equipment, and furniture.

Job Summary:

7.0 hours/day; 5 days/week; 260 days/year

11:00 A.M. - 6:00 PM

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma. Works skills substantiated by training and/or relevant work experience.
• An acceptable score on a pre-employment skill test may be required.
• Ability to lift/move items weighing 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Collects, records and maintains data accurately. Applies basic mathematical concepts correctly.
• Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures.
• Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks. Reacts to interruptions/emerging priorities effectively.
• Demonstrates evidence of appropriate literacy and numeracy skills (i.e. reading comprehension, written/oral communication, mathematical reasoning/application, etc.).
• Embodies high ethical standards/integrity. Accepts personal responsibility for decisions/conduct.
• Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
• Meets all mandated health screening requirements.

Salary:

Step 1, 15.28/Hour
