Job summary

Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District is seeking a dedicated custodian to perform cleaning and custodial duties under the supervision of the Principal and Head Custodian, helping protect and preserve district buildings, equipment and furniture.

The position runs 7.0 hours per day, 5 days per week, 260 days per year, from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Applicants must have a high school diploma; physical stamina and ability to lift 50 pounds; and a commitment to a drug-free workplace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; training or related work experience preferred.
• Pre-employment skill test may be required.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

Description

Under the supervision of the building Principal, and Head Custodian responsible for performing cleaning and custodial duties to protect/preserve buildings, equipment, and furniture.

Job Summary

7.0 hours/day; 5 days/week; 260 days/year

3:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma. Works skills substantiated by training and/or relevant work experience.
• An acceptable score on a pre-employment skill test may be required.
• Ability to lift/move items weighing 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Collects, records and maintains data accurately. Applies basic mathematical concepts correctly.
• Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures.
• Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks. Reacts to interruptions/emerging priorities effectively.
• Demonstrates evidence of appropriate literacy and numeracy skills (i.e. reading comprehension, written/oral communication, mathematical reasoning/application, etc.).
• Embodies high ethical standards/integrity. Accepts personal responsibility for decisions/conduct.
• Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
• Meets all mandated health screening requirements.
