Job summary

Sonoma State University seeks a Classroom Technology Support Specialist to provide advanced technical support and consultation for campus classroom technologies. Under supervision of the CTET Director, you will coordinate with academics, IT, and vendors to ensure reliable access to systems, data, and applications.

You will handle Tier I and II support, run workshops for faculty on technical and pedagogical topics, and contribute to the use of Canvas, Zoom, Panopto and other ed tech tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, educational technology, communications, or related field, or equivalent coursework.
• Ability to apply technical judgment to standard and nonstandard applications and systems.
• Three years of classroom technology experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Mac OS X and Windows; adept with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support and consultation for classroom technologies.
• Lead workshops and trainings for faculty on technical and pedagogical topics.
• Support CTET help desk with basic (Tier I) academic technology assistance.
• Collaborate with campus units and external vendors to maintain systems.
