Job summary

The Eugene School District 4J seeks a part-time instructional assistant to support teachers in delivering reading, writing and math instruction. You will translate materials and tutor students, helping to maintain an engaging classroom environment.

Ideal candidates provide two years of post-secondary study, an associate degree or higher, and fluent foreign-language ability. This role offers a part-time schedule with benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Two years post-secondary study totaling 72 credit hours or 48 semester units.
• An associate degree or higher required; attach diploma.
• Must pass a rigorous state/local academic assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics; attach scores.
• Fluent speaking and reading ability in a foreign language.
• Bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher and tutor students one-to-one and in groups.
• Translate instructional materials as needed.
• Prepare lessons and instructional materials with teacher guidance.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain classroom order during activities.
• Record grades, attendance, and student progress; assist with classroom materials.
