Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Special Education or closely related field is preferred.
• 72 credit hours / 48 semester units or equivalent documentation supports Highly Qualified status.
• High school diploma or GED with demonstration of required testing/assessment is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with teachers to plan and adapt daily instructional lessons and goals.
• Provide daily on-time physical support for students with mobility needs.
• Assist with wheelchair transfers and use of assistive devices.
• Provide feeding support per established feeding protocols.
• Assist in student transportation for 1:1 support as needed.
• Complete state-mandated training for medical/behavioral supports and annual training.
• Interpret and implement IEPs, BSPs, and other plans.
• Support communication plans using AAC under supervision.
• Collect and monitor daily data to track student progress.
• Maintain professional, respectful relationships with students, staff and families.
