Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers is seeking an Instructional Para Educator to support licensed staff by assisting students with basic curriculum work, reinforcing learning skills, and preparing classroom materials. You may work with behaviorally challenged students and help maintain a positive learning environment.

The role involves supervising student activities, documenting progress, and supporting classroom operations under the direction of a licensed staff member.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
• No professional work experience required
• Title I assignments must meet one of: two years of college; or associate’s or higher degree; or demonstrated knowledge via assessment in reading/writing/math
• Basic knowledge of office equipment (phones, copiers, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Intermediate English language skills
• Intermediate oral and written communication skills
• Advanced interpersonal relations skills
• Advanced organizational skills
• Ability to work alone and with others
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in preparing materials and testing
• Assist students with curriculum delivery in individuals or small groups
• Monitor students and reinforce behavior during activities
• Perform basic clerical tasks for the classroom teacher
• Assist with field trips or other classroom events
• Perform other duties as assigned
