Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking an Instructional Para Educator to support licensed staff by assisting students with basic curriculum work and reinforcing learning skills.

You will help prepare instructional materials, monitor behavior, and assist with assessment and documentation in a classroom setting with the possibility of field trips and in-school activities. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency diploma.
• No professional work experience required.
• Two years of college coursework or higher can meet Title I requirements.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Intermediate English language and communication skills.
• Advanced interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in preparing materials, administering tests, grading, attendance, etc.
• Assist students with curriculum delivery to individuals and small groups.
• Monitor students and reinforce appropriate behavior during activities and on field trips.
• Perform basic clerical work for the classroom teacher (typing, filing, ordering supplies, etc.).
• Assist with other classroom events such as field trips or fire drills.
