Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers is seeking a School Support Para Educator to assist with clerical duties and instructional support in a school setting in Colorado. You will type, file, answer phones, greet visitors, enter data, and help prepare learning materials under licensed staff supervision.

The role supports teachers and coordinators during student testing and activities, monitors students, and helps with before/after school duties. Strong organizational and communication skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
• No professional work experience required.
• Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills.
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced interpersonal relations skills.
• Advanced organizational skills.
• Ability to work alone and with others.
• Ability to perform data entry on a daily basis.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic clerical work such as data entry/typing, stapling, filing, duplicating, laminating, mail distribution, taking inventory, ordering office supplies, answering phones, taking messages, and office reception. Schedule meetings as requested. Frequency: Daily; 50%
• Support teachers and instructional para-educators with student testing and preparation of learning materials. Frequency: Daily; 15%
• May monitor, manage, and assist students during classroom activities and student testing, recess, lunch, detention, in-house suspension, and before or after school. Frequency: Daily; 10%
• Provide support to teachers and resource center technicians as needed. Frequency: Daily; 5%
• Draft and distribute reports and/or formal communication to staff and/or parents. Frequency: Weekly; 5%
• Help maintain program files, inventory, calendars, equipment maintenance, and repair schedules. May include budget tracking. [Weekly, 5%]. Frequency: Weekly; 5%
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Frequency: Daily; 5%
