Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking an Instructional Para Educator to support licensed staff by assisting students with curriculum, reinforcing learning skills, and preparing materials. The role includes supervising classroom activities, monitoring behavior, and contributing to discipline procedures under supervision.

The position may involve work with behaviorally challenging students and requires routine clerical tasks and collaboration with teachers to document student progress.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
• No professional work experience required
• Title I assignments must meet one of: 2+ years of higher education; or an associate’s or higher degree; or demonstrated knowledge via state/local assessments in reading/writing/mathematics
• Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, and email
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Intermediate English language skills
• Intermediate oral and written communication skills
• Advanced interpersonal relations skills
• Advanced organizational skills
• Ability to work alone and with others
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations

Responsibilities

• Assist with materials prep, tests, grading, and attendance.
• Assist students with classroom activities; deliver curriculum to individuals and small groups.
• Monitor students and reinforce behavior during activities.
• Perform basic clerical work in the classroom: typing, filing, inventory, data entry, supplies.
• Assist with field trips or fire drills as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned
