Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or GED equivalent)
• Paraprofessional license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) or eligible after 60 college credits, or completion of Work Keys/ParaPro exam

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising students during lunchroom and playground activities
• Provide security functions within the school (monitoring corridors, verifying student IDs)
• Assist students with understanding and completing classroom assignments
• Support teachers with bulletin boards and displaying student work
• Operate basic classroom equipment and audiovisual devices as directed
• Assist in collecting and grading homework and examinations
• Assist in supervising loading/unloading of students from buses
• Help maintain orderly classroom arrangements
• Greet and direct visitors; communicate with teachers about student concerns
• Collect attendance and contact parents/guardians for absences
